  • DIRECTOR

    Troy Scott

Troy is a Jamaican Canadian director who grew up in Toronto and, after completing his Film degree at University of Waterloo, then headed to Vancouver Film School and joined the Directors Guild shortly after. He has established a strong body of work in thriller, drama, romance, and adventure genres, for Paramount+, Lifetime, Hallmark, Sony Pictures Television, and MTV Entertainment Studios. Troy’s filmography reflects diverse stories and performances, including many BIPOC and gender diverse artists.
  • Not settling for the ordinary, Troy pushes the conventional boundaries of genres: to elevate, to interrogate, to inspire. His movies have received multiple nominations and awards including two NAACP Image Awards nominations. All of Troy’s movies to date have been scripted dramas, but he has recently been drawn to explore unscripted genres, especially documentary, following the inspiring experience of researching and directing the award winning true story Buying Back My Daughter, a film that brought much needed attention to the issue of sex trafficking. Troy was deeply honoured when his good friend Dana asked Troy to film Dana’s inspiring battle with cancer. Checkout Troy's imdb.
